SPECIAL 6 PACK BUNDLE (ONLY 10 AVAILABLE)

Italy has 20 primary growing regions, but if an award had to be issued to just two wines from all of them - as 'King and Queen' - Brunello di Montalcino and Barolo would take the crowns.

Barolo, with its age-worthy quality is characterised by its big, tannic profile and perfumed aromatics and is made from sumptuous, 100% Nebbiolo grapes grown in the northwest corner of Italy, in Piedmont. Brunello di Montalcino, on the other hand, is crafted from Sangiovese grapes sourced from vineyards surrounding Montalcino, in the centre of Italy, near Tuscany. Not only was it was the first of 20 Italian varietals to garner official DOCG status, it is also widely considered wine royalty along with its Barolo partner.

To celebrate these spectacularly ‘regal’ wines, the Sommeliers of PIVENE have curated a wonderful bundle of incredible wines from two of the most revered producers in Italy.

Located in Montalcino, Tuscany, Casanova di Neri is famous for its Brunello di Montalcino. Founded in 1971 by Giovanni Neri this family-owned estate operates 63 hectares of vines planted mainly to Sangiovese, all of which provide grapes for three single-vineyard wines, two Brunellos and their Rosso di Montalcino.

Similarly Fuligni, founded in 1923 by Giovanni Fuligni, is arguably one of Italy’s most famous producers. The estate, co-owned by Robert Guerrini Fuligni covers 100 hectares, 25 of which are under vine and almost all of which is planted with Sangiovese. Fuligni’s wines are internationally recognised for their purity of expression, strong backbone of acidity and polished tannins and are widely regarded as the finest wines of Brunello; epitomising all that is great from the region
