Chateau Surain, Popcorn, 2018

SGD 49.00

Château Surain, located in the village of Saint-Gervais has been a family estate for 100 years. The founder, Roger Surain grew it from a single hectare in 1920 to more than 15 hectares; the size it is today.

In 2018 the owner’s young nephew, Adrien Surain became the fourth generation to run the estate and set about creating a range of contemporary Bordeaux wines that are both consistently excellent and offer incredible value for money

This 2018 Château Surain ‘Popcorn’ is made of 100% Merlot and displays an intensely deep, ruby red colour in the glass. The nose is nicely pronounced with enticing spicy blackcurrant fruit and on the palate there is a rich and quite dense complexity with bold blackberry and blackcurrant notes all underpinned with an intriguing hint of spice.

Popcorn is an easy drinking, rich, ripe and full bodied wine of real quality and great appeal. A perfect every day drinker!
